Hai Phong

Situated 100 km east of Hanoi on the Cua Cam River, Hai Phong is the principal port city in the North of Vietnam. With its crescent-shaped nineteenth-century core, old Hai Phong is surprisingly well preserved and can be an attractive stop over on the way to Halong Bay by boat via Cat Ba Island. The most famous destination in Hai Phong for travellers is Cat Ba Island. This is the largest island in Halong Bay which is half covered by the Cat Ba National Park.
